WHO BENEFITS FROM CONTRIBUTIONS?

All funds raised, along with the McCormick Foundation match, are granted to qualified nonprofit organizations in North San Diego or Southwest Riverside counties. The McCormick Foundation and the North County Times pay all campaign and administrative expenses ensuring all money raised is granted back into the community.

ARE DONATIONS FROM NORTH SAN DIEGO AND SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE KEPT SEPARATE?

Yes. Best efforts are made to ensure funds raised, plus the match are granted back into the community in the area where they are raised. In North San Diego County grants are made to qualified nonprofits in North County. The same is true for Southwest Riverside County

WHAT ABOUT ACCOUNTABILITY?

Funded agencies must comprehensively document program spending and results, and submit written reports to the McCormick Foundation.

The North County Times Charities Fund, is a McCormick Foundation Fund, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, registration #36-3689171. Your gift is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

HOW LONG HAS THIS MATCHING PROGRAM EXISTED?

North County Times Charities Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation was established in 1991. As a Fund partner, the McCormick Foundation matches all donations at fifty cents on the dollar. We are very proud to be one of the more than 20 fund partners across the nation affiliated with the McCormick Foundation.

HOW DO AGENCIES APPLY FOR GRANTS?

Local agencies must apply for grants each year. All applicants are carefully screened for the appropriateness of their programs and for their financial responsibility.

Grant applications are available to nonprofit agencies which provide services to children and families in need in North San Diego and Southwest Riverside counties. See "Grant Information" on this site for instructions and the grant calendar.
