Pacificap enters into agreement

DEL MAR ---- Pacificap Entertainment Holdings Inc., announced Friday that it has entered into an agreement with FinArt LLC for motion picture financing and production. The agreement calls for up to $250 million in funding for studio production under a joint capitalization agreement. Pacificap aims to produce five $50 million films with the studios each year.

Chamber events around the area

  • Escondido's Chamber of Commerce will hold Good Morning Escondido from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. March 19 at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, 340 N. Escondido Blvd. Cost is $25 for chamber members and $35 for nonmembers; reservations must be made by Tuesday. Call (760) 745-2125 or visit the chamber at 720 N. Broadway.

  • The Oceanside Chamber Breakfast Roundtable is slated from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. March 18 at the El Camino Country Club, 3202 Vista Way. Cost is $15 for chamber members who pay by Tuesday and $20 afterward; it's $30 for nonmembers. Call (760) 722-1534.

    Runoff regulations to be addressed

    Scrapbook shop changes program

    POWAY ---- Cool Scrapbook Stuff, at 13025 Pomerado Road, Suite A, is changing its frequent buyer program. Customers with a yellow frequent buyer punch card are asked to go into the shop and redeem it for credit and pick up a new key tag. The punch cards will not be accepted after May 31.     Homes sell fast at Capistrano

    Quality Built to expand

    POWAY ---- Residential construction firm Quality Built of Poway has completed an agreement with Criterium Engineers, a Portland, Maine-based consulting engineering firm, that gives access for Quality Built to Criterium's 450 builder clients and an additional 150 licensed engineer/inspectors, who will be trained and certified to follow the Quality Built inspection programs. The addition of these engineers allows Quality Built to expand its operations to nearly all 50 states and parts of Canada, according to Quality Built's founder and chief executive officer, Stan Luhr.

    Credit union scores high

    North Island Credit Union, which has a branch in Vista, has received the highest customer service rating for a financial institution in a survey conducted in conjunction with the American Society for Quality and the University of Michigan. Using the American Customer Satisfaction Index, the credit union received a score of 84.

    Hidden Valley a top agent

    ESCONDIDO ---- Hidden Valley Moving & Storage Inc. of Escondido has been recognized as Mayflower Transit's Agent of the Month for January, said Steven J. Dawkins, executive vice president of Mayflower.

    Salon among fastest growing

    ENCINITAS ---- Headlines for Hair in Encinitas was recently named one of the 200 fastest-growing salons in the country by Salon Today magazine.

    Cardiff Software hands out awards

    VISTA ---- Cardiff Software Inc., a Vista-based maker of automated document processing products, announced the recipients of its coveted "Application of the Year" award at the company's recent Connections 2004 Channel Conference. The award was presented to Capture Partners Limited for its LiquidOffice eForm automation application, and to eiConsulting for its work with the TELEform information capture solution.

    ImageWare to provide system

    RANCHO BERNARDO ---- ImageWare Systems Inc., a Rancho Bernardo-based provider of digital imaging, biometric and identification solutions, and biometrics company SAGEM Morpho Inc. have announced an agreement to provide the Kauai County Police Department, Hawaii, with its first integrated fingerprint-mug shot capture system.

    University selects Open File Manager

    RANCHO BERNARDO ---- St. Bernard Software of Rancho Bernardo, a provider of security solutions that protect against data loss, system threats, Internet abuse and unsolicited e-mail, says that the University of Mississippi Medical Center selected the company's Open File Manager to back up its Netware servers.

    Kennel club picks EOS product

    CARLSBAD ---- EOS International of Carlsbad says the American Kennel Club has selected EOS.Web, in conjuction with the EOS Library Service, to maintain and advance access to its special collection.

    Verilet, Linnaeus join forces

    CARMEL VALLEY ---- Verilet Inc., a health-care technology company in Carmel Valley that delivers integrated health-care management via Web-based products, and Linnaeus Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of health-care information software and services for health plans, have formed an alliance to provide interactive, rule-based, configurable Internet solutions to health-care organizations.

    Fund donates to children's charity

    CARDIFF ---- The KSWB Cares for Kids Fund has donated $5,000 to Kids' Turn San Diego, a support group based in Cardiff for children of divorced families.
