Games range from solitaire to 'Star Wars'

Violent video games still are favorites of young males, but massively multiple on-line (MMO) video versions of traditional games and movie-inspired fantasies are gaining popularity with women and older players.
Among the more popular games:
Star Wars Galaxies, a role-playing game based on the popular movie series, is set in a galaxy long ago and far away and features adventures set in space and on land.
EverQuest, the most popular MMO game, is a fantasy game with its own diverse species, economic systems and politics. Players customize their characters and have adventures with other players in dungeons, towers, crypts and other mythical environments.
Dark Age of Camelot, a role-playing based after the death of King Arthur, casts players in one of three warring realms: Albion, Hibernia or Midgard. Players can choose from six races in each realm, and like other MMO games, there is a strong community presence where players communicate with one another.
The Sims, a game where a player takes charge of the simulated lives of other characters. Characters are designed from their appearance to their careers by players who run (or sometimes ruin) their lives.
Besides these, WorldWinner.com and many other sites offer a variety of popular MMO tournament games. Players can compete with others in games of solitaire, poker, bridge, 8-ball, spades, hearts, backgammon, chess, bowling, Cubis, Hangman and more.
