Our View: The pioneers found rain, rivers, erosion. No, explorers didn't wander into North County this winter, they landed a probe on Titan, a moon of Saturn that features remarkably Earth-like weather and geology. Oh, there were some differences: temperatures of 275 degrees below zero, methane rain and rocks that appear to be super hard water ice.

An inspiring example of international collaboration, the Cassini-Huygens mission to Titan and Saturn is fundamentally a tribute to two natural wonders ---- our solar system and the unquenchable human capacity for wonder.
