San Dieguito district names new principals

ENCINITAS ---- The 2005-06 school year will begin with new principals at La Costa Canyon and San Dieguito Academy high schools, San Dieguito Union High School District Superintendent Peggy Lynch announced Wednesday.
Torrey Pines High School assistant principal Amy Carlin will become La Costa Canyon's principal; San Dieguito Academy assistant principal Barbara Gauthier will become that school's principal.
La Costa Canyon and San Dieguito Academy have experienced many shifts in leadership in recent years.
In November, La Costa Canyon's principal since 2002, Margie Bulkin, left the school to take a job at the district office. Steve Levy replaced her as an interim principal.
Also in 2002, Don Rizzi was reassigned as La Costa Canyon's principal to become principal of San Dieguito Academy.
The news release does not say where Rizzi or Levy are headed.
