MENIFEE ---- Menifee school officials in a meeting Tuesday will decide whether to sponsor the district's first charter school.

Proponents of the Menifee Charter School had applied to the district seeking sponsorship earlier this year. Their application will come before the Menifee Union School District's Board of Trustees for final consideration on Tuesday.

The meeting will be at 4 p.m. at the district office, 30205 Menifee Road.

Proponents of another charter school recently were denied sponsorship by the Menifee Board of Trustees. The proponents have said they are considering asking the Riverside County office of Education to sponsor the charter.
