Donated home to be burned down by firefighters

FRENCH VALLEY ---- A home will be intentionally burned to the ground by firefighters as part of training exercises today and Wednesday.
The 4,000-square-foot home will be set on fire Wednesday afternoon during a controlled burn, said Engineer Rick Griggs, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The residence has been donated by the developer of the land where it now sits, the site for future tract homes, he said.
Today, firefighters plan to set small fires inside the home and do search and rescue training. In Wednesday's exercise, the home will be destroyed by fire, the spokesman said.
The home is in the 31000 block of Kjersti Road, near Kooden Road, between Leon and Winchester roads and south of Keller Road, in French Valley.
