Fog prompts weather warnings

NORTH COUNTY ---- Dense fog and a strong rip current prompted the National Weather Service to issue a coastal weather warning Monday.
Low clouds, fog and drizzle that started over the weekend were expected to remain on the coast through today, along with a 30 percent chance of showers.
Dense fog will be possible at higher elevations and on costal slopes with visibility of less than a quarter of a mile, according to the service.
The risk of dangerous rip currents will continue throughout the week, the hazardous weather outlook states.
Patchy, dense fog with poor visibility was also reported Monday afternoon in the Poway and Ramona areas.
