SAN DIEGO ---- B of I Holding Inc. announced that Michael A. Chipman and J. Gary Burke have joined the its board of directors.
MIR3 gains executive, promotes one
CARMEL VALLEY ---- MIR3 of Carmel Valley, which provides intelligent notification solutions, announced that David E. Leibow has joined the company as executive vice president of global field operations. In addition, Margi Schmidt, who has been with MIR3 for two years, has been promoted from vice president to senior vice president of business development.
Local entrepreneur raises $38K
SAN DIEGO ---- North County resident Randall Blaum, president and owner of Marketing Experts International, recently raised more than $38,000 for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund by developing, building and incorporating a new business inside a three-day business-building seminar.
Newland Communities hires specialist
SAN DIEGO ---- Janna Kay, a Sabre Springs resident, has been hired by Newland Communities as a human resources specialist.
Coradiant names leaders for offices
RANCHO BERNARDO ---- Coradiant Inc., which provides real-user monitoring equipment for data center applications, has opened three regional sales offices, which will be headed by Steve Spring (Silicon Valley), Kevin Martin (Dallas) and Matthew McSweeney (Waltham, Mass.). The company is also launching a channel sales organization under the leadership of Ray Fulks, who will be based at the company's headquarters in Rancho Bernardo.

Poseidon Resources engineer noted
Poseidon Resources' lead engineer, Nikolay Voutchkov, was recently recognized by the desalination industry for his work overseeing the desalination pilot plant studies that Poseidon has been conducting in Carlsbad for the last three years. Voutchkov was awarded "Best Overall Paper" at the International Desalination Association's World Congress in Singapore.

RANCHO BERNARDO ---- American Technology Corp., which handles directed sound reproduction technologies and products, says that John Zavoli takes over as president and chief operating officer on Nov. 1. He will succeed Kalani Jones, who resigned as president, chief operating officer and director.

CARLSBAD ---- Rubio's Restaurants Inc. has named Lawrence Rusinko as vice president of marketing.
