Revisiting Rudy: Waste Management breaks own safety record

On Tuesday, the company reached its 500th day without a lost-time injury.
The facility's previous record was 392 days, and the new stretch calculates to 400,000 total hours without any injuries for the 105 employees.
The company has a safety-education program and incentives, such as a bingo card based on the number of days without a lost-time injury. Bingo prizes include cash, carne asada cookouts, home-entertainment items, and tickets to sports events and amusement parks.
