NORTH COUNTY ---- As of Monday, a trio of armed robbery suspects arrested at gunpoint during the weekend on Interstate 15 in Escondido have been linked to about eight holdups in North County, a sheriff's sergeant said.
The suspects ----- Christopher L. Newman and Christopher P. Bristow, both 20, and Kerry M. Brown, 21 ---- are tentatively scheduled for arraignment Wednesday afternoon in the Vista Court on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and willful cruelty to a child.
The suspects were caught just after a gunman held up a San Marcos Exxon gasoline station, Sgt. Rick Persichilli. said Monday. He said a year-old girl who was in the car with the trio is the daughter of Brown and one of the men.
"They took their little kid to the robbery," Persichilli said. "She was released to her grandmother."
Bail for the suspects was set at $500,000 each at the Vista jail, where they remained Monday afternoon.
Persichilli said that one or more of the trio have been linked to holdups at small markets and businesses in recent months in Oceanside, San Marcos and Vista.
About $50 to $200 was stolen each time, possibly to support drug habits, the sergeant said. He said the trio are believed to have been staying at a motel in Escondido.
