SAN MARCOS ---- A bank bandit used a demand note to rob a credit union Friday and eluded capture, authorities said.
The robbery happened at 4:09 p.m. in the 600 block of San Marcos Blvd., sheriff's Lt. Dave Myers said.
A 6 foot tall white man, who motioned toward his waistband as if he might have a weapon, was given money and a dye pack in a briefcase, Myers said. He then ran out to a waiting black Honda Accord with a dark-skinned Latino man driving, the lieutenant said.
The bank bandit was described as being between 30 and 40 years of age, about 200 pounds, and wearing thick glasses, Myers said. The getaway driver was described as being about 30 years old and wearing black sunglasses and a black T-shirt.
Deputies were searching the area for the vehicle.
