In Loving Memory of
Bruce Edward Lower
Bruce was 56 when he passed away on July 18th in Bullhead City, Ariz. He was born on May 19, 1950, at Oceanside Community Hospital to his loving parents, Bruce and Marjorie Lower. Bruce attended schools in Vista, graduating with the VHS class of '68. He was a member of the track team as well as participating in inter-city track and field events winning many ribbons. Bruce joined the Army after graduation to fight in Vietnam for his country. After his discharge it was his love of the Pacific Ocean that drew him to become a commercial fisherman and scuba diver in Oceanside, Morro Bay and Alaska, but always remembering his days of surfing off the Oceanside Pier with friends and family as the best part of his youth. Bruce moved to Wickenburg, Ariz., in 2000, to be close to his mother and brother knowing that the Pacific was where his heart would always be. It was in Wickenburg that Bruce became a long distance truck driver traveling across this beautiful country. It was also there that he met his wife, Sherry and her daughter, Jamie. Besides his ocean, family and friends, Bruce had an undying
passion for his Harley. Bruce was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle and father, and always had a smile for everyone, gathering friends all along the way. He was an active member of VFW in Wickenburg, where a memorial service will be held.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce E. Lower, grandparents William and Pearl Huttom and Bruce and Catherine Lower. Joseph Anthony Martinez
Joseph Anthony Martinez, 25, of Valley Center, passed away Saturday morning, July 29, 2006, from complications due to cancer. He is survived by his loving parents, Dave and Elizabeth Martinez; big brother, Ruben; and terrific girlfriend Jenni "Toots" Schildhouse, who stood by his side the entire time.
Joseph was a shooting star that shot across the darkened sky bright and fast. Joseph burned hotter and brighter in his short time than most of us ever do throughout our entire lives. He loved life and enjoyed the simple things that make it count. Joseph loved many things, but these would be some of his favorites: movies, comic books, music and of course, Disneyland. Joseph knew the meaning of family. He looked after us even in his tougher days. He scolded my father for missing lunch, cheered up our mother when she was blue and treated his girlfriend like gold. He was the best brother a guy could ever ask for. To know Joseph was a treat, but to be loved by him was the greatest honor. Joseph was the most courageous person I've ever known. Joseph leaves behind a mark of loyalty and friendship that will not be forgotten by any who crossed his path. He will be missed and always loved. To any saddened person, please know that Joseph would not have it. His remark to you would be, "hey want to laugh, think of me naked!"
The viewing will be held at
Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, 255 S. Broadway in Escondido from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 3. A memorial service will be held at Ridgeview Church, 28094 N. We Love You So Much
Until Jesus Comes
Dad & Mom
Margaret L. Schneider
It has been three years since your passing, and this is for you.
God put his arms around her and said come with me.
With tearful eyes we let her go, and saw her slip away.
God broke our hearts to prove to us "He only takes the best."
We miss you.
Your loving husband,
Fred and family
