Republicans recruit voters at UCLA game

PASADENA - An RV full of young Republicans was tailgating at the UCLA-Rice football game this afternoon, hoping to recruit volunteers to vote with "Team Arnold."
The RV was at the game at the start of an 8-day "Pump up the Vote" tour of Southern California to attract young voters to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's campaign, said campaign worker Julie Soderlund.
USC student Cheyenne Steel, 19, was on the RV, braving the UCLA crowds to try to register new voters and volunteers.
"The goal of the pump up the vote tour is to reach out to younger voters and to register and to get them involved," said Soderlund. "The RV tour is hitting college campuses, regional victory volunteer centers, motorcross in San Bernardino, a surfing competition later in the week."
