Class Notes, Student Standouts

Open enrollment begins Nov. 27 in Temecula

TEMECULA ---- The Temecula Valley Unified School District will begin taking intradistrict transfer requests beginning Nov. 27. Parents who live within the district's boundaries can request an intradistrict transfer, allowing them to enroll their student in the district school of their choice.

Requests will be accepted until Jan. 19.

Space availability is the main determining factor for approval. If the number of transfers exceeds the space available at a school, a lottery will be held.

Children currently on an intradistrict transfer will automatically be renewed, unless space availability is an issue. However, parents of promoting fifth- and eighth-graders will need to apply for a new transfer if they would like their child to attend a school outside their school of residence.

Parents can download intradistrict transfer requests off the district Web site at www.tvusd.k12.ca.us/ESS/CWA/forms.htm or pick them up at any school site or the district's Office of Child Welfare & Attendance, 31350 Rancho Vista Road.
