VISTA ---- Sheriff's deputies used a Taser and a rubber bullet to combat a 45-year-old man who threatened them Saturday night with a 4-foot log, authorities said.
Deputies responded at about 8:20 p.m. to the area near West Vista Way and Brass Lane for reports of a man running in and out of traffic, Lt. William Donahue said.
When deputies approached the man, he picked up the log, held it over his head and demanded that the deputies shoot him, Donahue said.
The deputies then shot the man with a Taser, but he pulled the Taser dart out and refused to comply, Donahue said.
Deputies then shot the man with a rubber bullet, which took him to the ground, authorities said.
The suspect was transported to Tri-City Medical Center for a mental health evaluation, Donahue said. The deputies were not injured.

Questions are probably already flying about why the cops didn't use rubber bullets and tasers on those three drug-addicted Mexican dirtbags they took down last year.
