Nurse drives car off fourth level of parking structure

LOS ANGELES - A nurse whose car plunged off the fourth floor of a parking structure at County-USC Medical Center structure and landed on its roof atop an adjacent carport today suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Paramedics were sent to the 1200 block of Mission Road shortly before 8 a.m., said Ron Myers of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Investigators believe the 35-year-old woman may inadvertently have hit the accelerator instead of the brake.
The car landed upside down atop the carport, limiting the fall to just over two stories.
The woman, who was not immediately identified, was on her way to work at the Women & Children's Hospital next door, KCAL9 reported.
She had cuts on her head and general complaints of aches, but the injuries were described as moderate and non-life-threatening, Myers said.
A man who pulled the woman from her Nissan told Channel 9 that she was alert and talking when he helped her from the car.
"She said she was feeling OK, so I eased her out and ... took my jacket and shirt and laid her on there and waited for paramedics to come," he said. "I don't think she would have made it if she (had) hit the concrete."
The circumstances of the accident were under investigation.
