SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities are looking for the person who forced a man at knifepoint to drive to Chula Vista and then robbed him, police said.

The 26-year-old victim also stabbed in the hand and side during an apparent struggle, police said.

However, the injuries were minor and did not require medical attention, said Sgt. Rich Nemetz of the San Diego Police Department.

Police were called to 1410 S. 43rd St. at 10:57 p.m. yesterday.

The victim, who works at Northgate Market, went out to his Oldsmobile to get some things when a masked man approached him, pulled a knife and ordered him into the car, Nemetz said.

The victim told police he struggled at first with the assailant, but ended up driving him on the southbound Interstate 5 to H Street in Chula Vista, Nemetz said.

After taking the victim's money the assailant fled, Nemetz said.

The suspect is described as in his 30s, having a heavy build and was wearing dark clothing, police said.
