I for one can remember marching to end the Vietnam War, against nuclear arms and other objectionable causes, and yes I felt the sting of rejection on every march. I also felt the sting of bullets in combat, to protect our freedoms. Carry on students, carry on so the real understanding of freedom can be heard. Petition your government for the redress of grievances. And in so doing you will find out through experience that the freedoms you enjoy are not free! Do they have an office there? Were a list of grievances identified and given to a government representative? When we first came here, my parents worked three jobs between the two of them to help pay the bills. They made sure that I was in school EVERY DAY. They made sure that I learned English, not because they were ashamed of who they are, but because they know that this is the language that I would need to be successful. I am very proud of my heritage and I am very proud of what I have been able to accomplish. I went to UCSD and now I have a good career. I had nothing handed to me. I worked 30 hours a week to afford college. I obey the laws and I work hard. Don't you dare think for a moment that these people speak for me, or for all immigrants. They do not. I know many immigrants who are very upset by these pro-illegal immigrant rallies. If you break a law, expect to pay the consequences!
