Alcoholism:
Women for Sobriety: Self-help group for women alcoholics, meets at 6 p.m. Mondays at the San Marcos Kaiser-Permanente facility. Not a 12-step program. Call (760) 214-8114 or (760) 724-4474.
Alzheimer's disease:
Alzheimer's Support Group: Vista group meets from 1:30-3:30 p.m. every Thursday at Arcadia Place, 1080 Arcadia Ave. under the auspices of the Alzheimer's Association of San Diego. Call (760) 727-9089 or e-mail keyboard@sbcglobal.net.
Bereavement:
Parents' Bereavement Group: Sponsored by Hospice of the North Coast. Meets from 7 to 9 p.m. the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at the office, 5441 Avenida Encinas, Ste. A., Carlsbad. On-going group for parents who have lost a child of any age, from any cause. Call (760) 431-4100.
Pathways Through Grief and Loss: Sponsored by the Hospice of the North Coast. Meets from 1:30-3 p.m. every Tuesday at the office, 5441 Avenida Encinas, Ste. A, Carlsbad. Education and discussion on topics of interest for adults who have lost a loved one. Call (760) 431-4100.
Elizabeth Hospice support group: The Elizabeth Hospice is offering a free education and support group for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, whether recent or in the past. The group meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon Fridays at the Ramona Senior Center, 434 Aqua Lane. Group facilitators are bereavement counselors from The Elizabeth Hospice. Fallbrook Hospice Support Group: Meets every Tuesday at Silvergate Residential Facility in the Library. Silvergate's address: 420 Elbrook Dr.Fallbrook. Call Fallbrook Hospital Hospice for further information at (760) -728-1435.
Brain Injury:
San Diego Brain Injury Foundation: Offers two free meetings a month, one in Encinitas, on the subject of brain injury and the recovery process. Call (619) 294-6541.
Breast Cancer:
Vista Community Clinic's Breast Health Program: For breast cancer survivors and those in treatment. Meets every other Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Call (760) 407-1220, Ext. 167, or (760) 407-1220, Ext. 154.
Caregivers:
Alzheimer's disease caregiver support group: The Alzheimer's Association and the George G. Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers offer a support group for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. The group meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at the San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Center Drive. Call (760) 744-9000.

Diabetes:

Diabetes support group (Palomar Medical Center): For those with diabetes and their spouses, relatives and friends. Call (858) 613-4164.
Diabetes support group (Tri-City Medical Center): Meets from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Tri-City Medical Center, 4002 W. Vista Way. Call (760) 724-8411.
Eating:
Food Addicts Anonymous, Escondido: Meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the Library Room at the Joslyn Senior Center, 210 Park Ave., Escondido. E-mail to BradSD25@yahoo.com or call (760) 940-8719.
Food Addicts Anonymous, Carlsbad: Meets at 11 a.m. Mondays in Room 4 at St. Michael's Church, 2775 Carlsbad Blvd. The group treats sugar, flour and wheat as substances that can be abused like alcohol or other drugs and uses a 12-step recovery program. Epilepsy:
Parent Support Group - North County. For parents & concerned adults of children & young adults with seizure disorders. General:
Degenerative illness support group: For those with chronic or degenerative illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and arthritis. Meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month in North County. Call (760) 579-3159.
Family support: Families Anonymous, a 12-step, self-help support program for parents, relatives and friends who are concerned about the substance abuse of a loved one, meets at 6 p.m. Thursdays in the community room, San Diego National Bank, 131 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas.
Hearing:

Heart disease:
WomenHeart, San Diego North Coastal Chapter: For women who are living with or are at risk for heart disease. Call (760) 438-5890.

Interstitial cystitis

Mental health:
National Alliance on Mental Illness:
Escondido: North Inland chapter meets monthly at Kinesis North, 474 W. Vermont Ave., Escondido. Call (760) 745-8381.
Vista: Support group meets Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Tri-City Outpatient Program, 510 W. Vista Way.
Oceanside: Meets Fridays from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the North Coastal Mental Health Clinic, in the back parking lot in the trailer, at 1701 Mission Ave. Call (760) 722-3754.
The 12 Steps of Phobics Anonymous: Meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at the North County Alano Club, 4198 Mission Ave. Phobias are characterized by the dread and avoidance of specific objects or situations, such as heights, highway driving, snakes and closed-in places. Call (760) 757-1166.
Treatment and Research Advancements Association for Personality Disorder monthly support group: For family of someone who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. Not for those who have BPD. Call (760) 729-2331.

Parkinson Support Group of the Joslyn Senior Center, Escondido: Meets the third Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am in the Dorothy E. Boeger Building, 728 N. Broadway, Escondido. Call (858) 273-6763.

Stuttering

Vision:
