SAN MARCOS -- An 18-year-old man was stabbed near Mission Hills High School in a gang-related attack Thursday, sheriff's Sgt. Charles Cinnamo said.
The stabbing was reported at 3:08 p.m. outside a 7-Eleven on Mulberry Drive and Mission Road about a half mile west of the high school, Cinnamo said. The teenager, who was not a high school student, was stabbed in the abdomen by several unknown gang members and associates, the sergeant said.
The victim was taken to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of a minor puncture and was later released, he said.
Deputies took several suspects into custody, but were still looking for others, Cinnamo said.
