Yvonne Elias, 87
ANZA ---- Yvonne M. Elias, 87, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta.
Born in Chicago, she lived in Anza for 25 years. She retired from UCSD as the director of library personnel.
Mrs. Elias is survived by her daughter, Dorothy A. Mummert of Murrieta; sons Kenneth J. Mummert of Orange County and Daniel T. Elias of Temecula.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at Rancho Community Church on Highway 79 South in Temecula. Private interment is planned.

Mildred Hauge, 94
MENIFEE ---- Mildred Anne Hauge, 94, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Hemet.
Born Dec. 12, 1912, in Galt, Iowa, she lived in Menifee for eight years. She received a teaching certificate from Waldorf College in Forest City. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Alhambra. She operated a child care business in Temple City.
Mrs. Hauge was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Gerald Hauge, in 1993; son Robert Paul Hauge in 1970; and daughter Donna Kay Watson in 2006. She is survived by her son, Stephen Martin Hauge of Tuscany Hills; daughter Julia Andrea Steedman of Menifee; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private interment and cremation are planned.
The family suggests donations to Habitat for Humanity or Friends of the Murrieta Public Library.

Dale Hewitt, 82
WILDOMAR ---- Dale Hewitt, 82, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at his home.
Born Jan. 9, 1925, in Atlanta, Ill., he lived in Wildomar for 18 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Hewitt is survived by his wife, Eileen Hewitt of Wildomar.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. today, April 24, at Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory in Sun City.

Dennis O'Brien, 69
ESCONDIDO -- Dennis G. O'Brien, 69, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007.
Born Sept. 30, 1937, in Sioux City, Iowa, he lived in Escondido for nine years.
He was chief executive officer of Bank of America Finance Corp. for 40 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Escondido. He was an avid golfer.
Mr. O'Brien is survived by his wife of 50 years, Roberta O'Brien of Escondido; sons and daughter-in-law Kevin C. and Judy O'Brien of San Marcos, Timothy G. O'Brien of Jamul and Sean W. O'Brien of Pullman, Wash.; daughters and son-in-law Michelle A. O'Brien of Corona, Catherine J. O'Brien of Rancho Cucamunga, Patricia D. and Warren Van Dam of San Marcos, Susanne M. Rooks of Clairmont and Brianna D. O'Brien of Escondido; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Mission San Luis Rey, 4050 Mission Ave. in Oceanside.
Interment will follow at Mission San Luis Rey.

Elsie Leighton, 83
PLEASANTON - Elsie Salmi Leighton, 83, died of Alzheimer's disease Sunday, April 15, 2007.
Born June 4, 1923, in Ballard, Wash., she lived in Pleasanton for four years. She lived in Escondido for 17 years previously. She retired after 15 years as a secretary for the Alhambra High School English department. She enjoyed golf, sewing and tatting.
Mrs. Leighton was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Salmi.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sigrie and Bill Potter of Pleasanton; brother Howard Salmi of Ballard, Wash.; sisters and brother-in-law Ethel Dunkle of Beaverton, Ore., and Ilmi and A Phillips of Seattle; and two grandchildren.
A private service will be held in June in Seattle. A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests donations to the Hope Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.

Alphonse Bergeron, 93
ESCONDIDO -- Alphonse Bergeron, 93, died Thursday, April 19, 2007.
Born Dec. 27, 1913, in Brownville Junction, Maine, he lived in Escondido for 10 years.
He retired as a tool and die maker after 42 years with Texas Instruments. He was a member of the Escondido Gem & Mineral Club, where he taught classes.
He graduated from Rhode Island School of Design.
Mr. Bergeron was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Bergeron, in 2004; one sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Gary Davis of San Diego; son and daughter-in-law Al and Camille Bergeron of Rockwell, Texas; and 26 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas. Interment at Ridgeview Memorial Park in McKinney is planned.
The family suggests donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.

Theresa Talbot, 89
CARLSBAD -- Theresa Talbot, 89, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at Tri-City Medical Center.
Born Feb. 25, 1918, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, she lived in Carlsbad for 70 years.
She was a dental assistant for many years. She worked in the kitchen at the Carlsbad Senior Center.
She served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Mrs. Talbot was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice P. Talbot; and son Robert W. Talbot.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Stuart Barter of Vista; brother David of Arizona; sisters Francis Tighe of Arizona, and Mary Tighe of Missouri; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside with the Rev. Michael Frazee officiating.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Frazee officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

WASHINGTON ISLAND, Wash. -- Anne Marie Vaughan Trueblood, 64, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in Vista.
Born Aug. 6, 1942, in Cheltenham, England, she lived in Washington Island for 12 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Trueblood is survived by her husband, Guerdon Trueblood of Washington Island; sons Guerdon Trueblood Jr. of San Francisco and Christopher Trueblood of Washington Island; daughter Alexandra Trueblood of Vista; brother Anthony Read of England; sister Janette Read of Hydra Island, Greece; and two grandchildren.
Services are pending.

Sidney Wilkirson, 68
OCEANSIDE - Sidney Pierce Wilkirson, 68, died Thursday, April 19, 2007.
Born Dec. 4, 1938, in Sherman, Texas, he lived in Oceanside for 34 years. He was a groundskeeper for the Oceanside School District for 27 years.
He retired as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam twice.
Mr. Wilkirson was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Pierce; and father and stepmother Sidney Leon and Edith Wilkirson.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nellie Wilkirson; daughter April Wilkirson of Fresno; sister and brother-in-law Jo and G.T. Cundiff of Clinton, Okla.; and brother and sister-in-law David and Sandy Wilkirson of Plano, Texas.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, 1999 El Camino Real in Oceanside.

Kari Abraham, 44
DEL MAR -- Kari O'Donnell Abraham, 44, died of brain cancer Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at San Diego Hospice.
Born Sept. 9, 1962, in Telluride, Colo., she lived in Del Mar for 42 years.
She was a teacher and math tutor for the San Dieguito and Rancho Santa Fe school districts.
She received a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley and a master's degree in education from National University. She enjoyed playing scrabble at Peet's Coffee.
Ms. Abraham is survived by her parents, Anne and Bob Abraham of Del Mar.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Powerhouse Park, 1658 Coast Blvd. in Del Mar. Private cremation was held.

Dorothy Morway, 65
ESCONDIDO -- Dorothy A. "Dotti" Morway, 65, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Pomerado Hospital in Poway.
Born Sept. 14, 1941, in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, N.Y., she lived in Escondido for 29 years.
She was a legal secretary for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Morway is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ron Morway of Escondido; daughter Lisa Morway of Escondido; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Elizabeth Baust of Manorville, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Viewing is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at McLeod Mortuary Chapel in Escondido.
Inurnment at Oak Hill Memorial Park is planned.
