Man dies in Pala Mesa Village crash

SAN DIEGO - A 48-year-old Banning resident was killed in a head-on collision in Pala Mesa Village, the county Medical Examiner's Office reported today.
Frank Bowman was in the front passenger seat of a Hyundai Sonata that collided with a tanker truck shortly after 2 p.m. yesterday on state Route 76, just east of Interstate 15, a medical investigator said.
Bowman was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least two others were injured in the crash and treated at nearby hospitals, a California Department of Forestry dispatcher said.
