PATTON, Pa. -- Cambria County officials hope a new 6,000-acre off-road vehicle site will attract thousands of ATVs and off-road motorcycle, mountain bike, equestrian and snowmobile riders.
Rock Run Recreation Area, built on a former strip mine, includes 50 miles of trails and a welcome center, and plans call for 150 miles of trails and a campground.
In its first two weeks, the park drew several hundred riders from six states.
Officials said the park, about 85 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, will provide much-needed riding space for off-road vehicles, and they hope it will boost the economy.
