SAN DIEGO ---- The Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito has announced EDCO as a cause marketing partner.

Law firms implement EOS.Web

CARLSBAD ---- Several law firms across the country recently implemented EOS International's EOS.Web, including Sidley Austin LLP, Arnold & Porter LLP, Kaye Scholer LLP, Davis & Gilbert LLP and Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP.

EOS International is headquartered in Carlsbad. Its EOS.Web is a Web-based library automation solution built using Microsoft .NET technologies.

Kahler systems sold at Minn. location

OCEANSIDE ---- Brown's Guitar Factory in Mounds View, Minn., is now offering models with Kahler tremolo systems.

Kahler International Inc. is an Oceanside-based manufacturer of tremolo and fixed bridges systems for electric guitar and bass.

Scripps hospital aids community programs

ENCINITAS ---- Scripps Memorial Hospital, Encinitas, devoted $28.4 million to community benefit programs and services in fiscal year 2006, according to the nonprofit hospital's 2007 Community Benefit Plan & Report.

The Machine Inc. feted by magazine

OCEANSIDE ---- The Machine Inc., a youth marketing and design agency, has received the Ski Area Management magazine's "Best Overall Creative" award for its Big Bear Mountain Resort advertising campaign.

Tourism bureau makes donation

CARLSBAD ---- The Carlsbad Convention and Visitors Bureau donated $1,000 to the Carlsbad Educational Foundation during the Kids Are Worth a Million telethon.

Dream Design a top remodeler

RANCHO BERNARDO ---- Dream Design Builders Inc., a home remodeling firm based in Rancho Bernardo, has been selected as one of the top 50 remodelers in the United States by Remodeling Magazine.

Orfila wins gold in global competition

ESCONDIDO ---- Orfila Vineyards & Winery in Escondido was one of only three wineries in the United States honored with gold medals in the 31st annual Challenge International du Vin in France's Bordeaux Region. Orfila's Estate "Lotus" No. 45 won gold, and its 2003 Ambassador's Reserve Merlot earned a bronze medal.

Shea Homes honored by reading group

SAN DIEGO ---- Shea Homes, which has built several communities in North County, was recently honored by the Greater San Diego Reading Association for its countywide programs aimed at promoting student reading.

CARLSBAD ---- LuminOre Inc., a Carlsbad-based supplier of composite metal coatings, has awarded Liquid Metal Matrix with the designation of Preferred Applicator for LuminOre products.

Liquid Metal Matrix has an operating facility in Oceanside.

Solatube noted for international trade

CARLSBAD ---- Solatube Global Marketing Inc. was named the recipient of the 2007 Bill Ivans International Trade Award.

Venture partners award grant

SAN DIEGO ---- Community Resource Center in Encinitas will receive $300,000 in cash grants and in-kind professional business consulting services from the San Diego Social Venture Partners over a three-year period.

Siafu an 'emerging tech company'

POWAY ---- Siafu Software says that it has been selected a Top 2007 Emerging Technology Company by CRN Magazine. Siafu Software was also one of only 50 vendors to be selected in the additional "50 Emerging Vendors You Should Know" list, which accompanied the annual ranking by CRN.

Breach Security joins standards council

CARLSBAD ---- Breach Security Inc., based in Carlsbad, has joined the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council.

The council is an open global forum founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International for the development and implementation of security standards for payment account data protection.

Search Engine ranks No. 2 on list

CARLSBAD ---- Search Engine Optimization Inc., a search engine marketing company, has been named No. 2 on PromotionWorld's Top 10 SEO Companies for June 2007, its 13th time on the list and ninth time in the top five.

Ablation launches products in EU

CARLSBAD ---- Ablation Frontiers, Inc., developer and manufacturer of catheters for the treatment of atrial fibrillation, says that it has initiated a commercial launch of its products with cardiac centers throughout the European Union and other international markets that recognize the CE Mark.

The Carlsbad-based company received the CE Mark late last year for its Cardiac Ablation System.
