ENCINITAS -- Mary Hernandez, 85, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, in La Jolla.
She was born November 3, 1923, In National City. She was a homemaker for 55 years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church of Encinitas and a member of the MAEGA organization.
Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Hernandez, in 2000; daughter Mary J. Hernandez in 1949; and son Don Hernandez in 2002. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Dan and Norma Hernandez of San Diego, Francisco and Virginia Hernandez of Portland, Ore., and Camille Hernandez; daughter Diana Camarena of Encinitas; brother and sisters-in-law John and Juanita Artiaga oand Rosalie Artiaga, all of Vista; sisters Moriel of Oceanside, Dee Vallez of Encinitas, and Lucy "Herf" Hurford of Encinitas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, at St. John's Catholic Church, 1010 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside.
