ESCONDIDO --- Valerie Elizabeth Middleton, 89, died Monday June 25, 2007, at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, Colo.
She was born March 30, 1918, in Mount Rainier, Md. and was valedictorian of her high school class in 1935 at Silver Spring, Md. Before retirement she was a school secretary and librarian. She lived in Guam, Alameda, Albuquerque, N.M., Escondido, Washington D.C. and New York as well as Montrose.
Mrs. Middleton was preceded in death by her former husband Fred Feiss and husband Bluford Clovis Middleton. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John and Karen Middleton of Arlington, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law Terri Middleton-Huntley and Ron Huntley of Montrose; Valerie and Bill Hoadley of Chula Vista, and Marti Middleton Petro and Joe Petro of Summerville, S.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law Lloyd and Esther Willis of Maryland; Larry and Pinky Willis of Escondido; Bob and Kitty Willis of Escondido; sister and brother-in-law Jeanie and Charlie Gore of Damascus, Md.; nine grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
At Mrs. Middleton's request, cremation has taken place and no service is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of America, in Memory of Valerie E. Middleton, 225 N.
