VISTA ---- John Michael Johnston, 44, died, Thursday, June 21, 2007, of cancer at Tri-City Hospital in Oceanside.
Born Dec. 22, 1962, at Camp Pendleton, he lived in Vista for 37 years. He had eleven years of school. He worked for over 20 years in earth moving. He was know as J.J. to most of his friends. He battled cancer for 16 years.
Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his father, John W. Johnston, in 2002. He survived by his mother, Pauline "Boots" Johnston, of Vista; and sister Patricia Ramirez of San Marcos.
A public memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Vista Palomar Riders Clubhouse in Vista.
North County Cremation is handling arrangements.
