APPLE VALLEY ---- Johanna "Jo" Wachtstetter, 83, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at home.
Born May 18, 1924, in Jefferson County, Mo., she lived in Apple Valley for five years. She was a Sunday school teacher, missionettes teacher, Girls Club leader, Brownies leader and Girl Scout leader. She was a foster parent, and enjoyed competitive card games, gardening and watching golf. She was a homemaker for 60 years. Jo had an open door and a helping hand to all. She and her husband Chris lived in Riverside for over 20 years.
Mrs. Wachtstetter was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Chris Wachtstetter, in 2006 and her daughter Elizabeth Sue Mickevich.
She is survived by her sons Buddy Wachtstetter of Vista and Charles Wachtstetter of Apple Valley; daughter and son-in-law Billy Jo and George DeYoung of Apple Valley; brother Jack Wiseman of Mountain Home, Ark.; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at 15609 11th St. in Victorville.
Victor Valley Mortuary is handling arrangements.
