ESCONDIDO ---- Betty A. Lepanto, 76, died Friday, June 22, 2007, in Escondido.
Mrs. Lepanto was born March 10, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from La Jolla High School in 1948. After moving to Escondido in 1958, she worked for Home Federal Savings and Loan as a Customer Service Representative. She was president of the Palomar Medical Center Auxiliary from 1981 to 1983. In 1986 she became president of the San Diego-Imperial County Council of Hospital Volunteers. She was active with the Escondido Swim Club and officiated for the Amateur Athletic Union. She was also a model for a well-known clothing company in San Diego County. She was an active member of the International Wizard of Oz Club. She enjoyed holidays, cooking, traveling, animals and her community.
Mrs. Lepanto is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ron Lepanto, of Escondido; sons James of San Diego and Richard of Escondido; and one granddaughter.
A private cremation is planned.
Memorial donations may be made to the Betty A. Lepanto Memorial Fund, 2045 E. Lee Drive, Escondido, CA 92027, for distribution to her favorite charitable organizations.
