LAKE ELSINORE ---- Bob Franklin Thompson, 76, died of natural causes Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at home.
Born Sept. 6, 1930, in California, he lived in Lake Elsinore for 30 years. He was an all-star football player for Newport-Harbor in high school and loved the sport throughout his life. He enjoyed living by the lake and also loved the ocean.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by a brother, James Thompson, and daughter Sherrill Kelly.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Joan Thompson; sons and daughters-in-law Kirk and Donna Thompson of Huntington Beach, John and Christine Thompson of Lake Elsinore, Jesse Thompson of Orange County, Tracy Thompson of Norco, Marc Thompson and Jeff Thompson of Lake Elsinore; stepson, David Shelton of Nebraska; brothers and sister-in-law Dale and Marlene Thompson of Norco and Stanley Thompson of Huntington Beach; sister, Shirley Corneilson of Arizona; and five grandchildren.
A viewing is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, at Evans-Brown Mortuary in Lake Elsinore, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Evans-Brown. Burial will follow at Elsinore Valley Cemetery.
