OCEANSIDE -- Ruth M. Cook, 88, died of congestive heart failure on Sunday, July 15, 2007, at the Springs at Oceanside Assisted Living.
Mrs. Cook was born in Rochester, N.Y., on Nov. 11, 1918. She lived in Oceanside for three years. For over 20 years, she worked as the manager of the paging office at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was a devout Roman Catholic and an active volunteer for her parish church and the George Eastman House. She was interested in genealogy.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Allen B. Cook, in 1982. She is survived by her son, Brian Cook of Carlsbad, and nieces Dody Houk, Kathleen Kellogg, Yvonne Warner, and nephew Don Cook.
A Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside. Interment will follow in Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery. She will be placed in the 25-foot statue of Our Lady of the Assumption in the new section of the mission cemetery.

Accu-Care Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
