Business News Briefs: Trango announces two pacts

CARMEL MOUNTAIN RANCH ---- Trango Broadband Wireless, a Carmel Mountain Ranch-based manufacturer of long-range outdoor wireless broadband connectivity equipment, has announced two agreements.

Crossover Distribution will stock Trango Broadband products for distribution throughout Canada. Crossover Distribution is a Canadian distributor of wireless broadband, in-building cellular and telecom technologies.

Also, Alliance Corp. will stock Trango Broadband products for distribution to Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Alliance, also based in Canada, is a wireless infrastructure distributor.

Health district, Sport Clips partner

SAN DIEGO ---- San Diego County Sport Clips haircut stores and Palomar Pomerado Health have announced a joint partnership to help increase awareness of healthy lifestyle practices for men and their families. The organizations will spearhead campaigns such as free bood pressure and skin test screenings at area Sport Clips stores, as well as communitywide awareness programs targeting men's health issues.

CBRE office closes 17 deals in 2Q

SAN DIEGO ---- CBRE/Capital Markets' San Diego office closed 17 financing deals in the second quarter totaling more than $300 million, with an additional $136.5 million under application or committed.

Among the North County deals were $16.75 million for Quail Point, a 160-unit multifamily apartment complex in Encinitas; $5.9 million for the acquisition of The Mark, a 72-unit multifamily apartment complex in Escondido; and $4.4 million for the refinancing of Solana Point, a 32-unit multifamily complex in Solana Beach.

ASML Holding chooses Cyme

RANCHO BERNARDO ---- Cymer Inc., a Rancho Bernardo-based company that makes ultraviolet light sources used in semiconductor manufacturing, has been selected by ASML Holding NV as the extreme ultraviolet source supplier for its EUV scanners for high-volume manufacturing. Cymer has signed a multiyear agreement, with the first shipment scheduled for late 2008.

VentureNet part of mining venture

TEMECULA ---- VentureNet Capital Group Inc., based in Temecula, has entered into a joint venture with West Desert Gold Mines Inc. and Universal Mud to explore and mine three gold mine properties.

US Farms subsidiary gets license

SAN DIEGO ---- US Farms Inc., which has operations in North County, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, US Ag Transportation Inc., is now licensed for food service transportation, produce and agriculture transportation and to provide refrigerated transportation nationwide.

Outdoor Channel aims to hook viewers

TEMECULA ---- Outdoor Channel, based in Temecula, has announced six key shows in its fishing lineup: "Ultimate Match Fishing," "Ultimate Match Fishing ---- College Edition," "Western Sportfishing with Lee Horsley," "Offshore Adventures," "Outfitters Almanac" and "Ultimate Outdoors." All new programming is slated to kick off in 2007 and 2008.

The company recently launched a new on-air look inspired by its new "action black" and "adventure green" logo. The look was also implemented on Outdoor Channel's new broadband Web site, www.outdoorchannel.tv, and the relaunched corporate Web site, www.outdoorchannel.com.

Good & Roberts keeps busy

VISTA ---- Good & Roberts Inc., based in Vista, has been awarded a contract by Pacific Development Partners for construction of a Navy Federal Credit Union branch with adjacent site work at the Imperial Marketplace in San Diego.

The Vista-based Good & Roberts has also commenced tenant improvement construction for Gen-Probe Inc. at its 10210 Genetic Center Drive facility in San Diego.

In addition, the company has finished tenant improvement construction for JCC Enterprises at 2051 Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad.

Work started on credit union project

MURRIETA ---- Johnson & Jennings General Contracting has begun tenant improvements on the First Future Credit Union branch at 40230 Murrieta Hot Springs Road. The project, which includes construction of radius walls and the installation of 9-foot cherry-wood doors, is valued at $400,000.

Steel topped off on Kilroy Sabre Springs

SABRE SPRINGS ---- Kilroy Realty Corp. says that the steel has been topped off on the third and final building of the Kilroy Sabre Springs campus, at the Interstate 15 and state Route 56 convergence.

When completed late this year, the office development will consist of three six-story, 148,313-square-foot buildings totaling 444,939 square feet with two parking structures.

Fricker named president of Daphne's

SAN DIEGO ---- Daphne's Greek Cafe, which has locations throughout North County and Southwest Riverside County, says that Steve Fricker has joined the company as president. Fricker has held various key positions within restaurant brands such as Jack In The Box, Outback Steakhouse and most recently, R&S Bread Group Inc., a Panera LLC franchisee.

Arkeia hires one, promotes two

CARLSBAD ---- Arkeia Software, a provider of data protection software, has hired Philippe Tiennot in the newly created role of chief operating officer. The company has also promoted Frederic Renard to EMEA sales director and Dave Elliott to general manager, Americas and Asia Pacific.

Shermer joins MVTS Technologies

CARLSBAD ---- Chuck Shermer has joined MVTS Technologies as vice president of business development.

MVTS Technologies is a reseller of refurbished Automated Testing Equipment to the electronics semiconductor industry.

Mercardante on boards at 1st Pacific
