PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria -- In a July 25 story about violence in Nigeria's oil region, The Associated Press, relying on information from police, erroneously reported that a Nigerian oil worker killed at his home here was employed by Global Offshore, a subsidiary of U.S.-based Global Industries Ltd.
Jim Gallagher, a Global Industries official, said July 31 no past or current employee of the company had been killed recently in Port Harcourt.
