Lefty may be struggling, but his site's doing fine

www.philmickelson.com -- This weekend's PGA Championship, the final major of the year, means the end of the golf season is in sight.
Sadly, it looks like it's going to be another lost weekend for local hero Phil Mickelson.
The Rancho Santa Fe resident was slowed earlier this year by a wrist injury suffered while practicing for the U.S. Open. Lefty is reportedly healthy now, but his game hasn't quite come back. He entered the PGA Championship needing a victory to become just the fifth player to record a major victory in four consecutive years. But it looks like it's going to take a miracle for that to happen.
Despite his troubles on the golf course, we figured we'd check up on Phil with a visit to www.philmickelson.com, where even Mickelson himself hasn't sugarcoated his struggles.
Cool stuff
< Visit the FAQ section for details on getting an autograph from Mickelson. The best part? It's free. Can't think of too many professional athletes who openly advertise free signatures for fans. I wonder if Pacman Jones and Barry Bonds do that.
< Golf nuts should love "What's in the bag." As the name suggests, it's a breakdown of the clubs you'll find in Mickelson's bag. I'm much more curious about the contents of John Daly's bag.
< The news section gives regular updates on Mickelson's performances. And give Phil kudos, as the site doesn't shy away from mentioning his struggles.
Check at the door
< The biography is a bit skimpy, and what is there is laid on a little thick.
< Where are the photos? There's no gallery of Mickelson and no video of him in action, either. Worst of all, there are no photos of his wife, Amy. Play to your strengths, Phil.
The grade
The site isn't as flashy as those of other pro stars, but that works in its favor. It gets four out of five mouses.
