From superior court judges to casual newspaper readers, residents of San Diego County already know of the connection between violent crime and methamphetamine abuse.

Jon wrote on Aug 27, 2007 5:58 AM:At one time Escondido was the Meth Capitol of the West coast. Has it been cleaned up? You don't hear much about big busts going on in this town anymore like you did in the 80s and 90s.
Rehabilitated wrote on Sep 20, 2007 10:19 AM:i'm a success story I guess. I was using meth( heavily) for about a year when I was busted, sent to rehab, got my stuff straight, and now am an honor student at college. It just takes a lot of will power, and hitting absolute rock bottem. I'm lucky I got bisted when I did, otherwise I'm almost pisitive I'd be dead.
Verythankful wrote on Oct 25, 2007 9:04 AM:I am thankful every day that I got away from meth. I was a daily user for almost 3 years. Now I NEVER got into any trouble, I guess you can say I was a "closet" addict. But it did slowly destroy me and the so-called friends that I hung out with. I guess GOD was watching out for me because I woke up one day (after my best friend's boyfriend shot and killed her while high on meth) and said that was it! And it was it. I did not go to rehab. I changed my friends, my thought process and became determined to become the person I was before I was introduced to that evil stuff. Been clean and free since 1992. YOU HAVE TO BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND ADMIT DEFEAT BEFORE THE HEALING PROCESS CAN BEGIN. Signed: One Very very thankful woman
