California Baptist University goalkeeper Adam Kramer was honored this week as the Golden West Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Kramer, a Temescal Canyon graduate, made eight saves in his first carreer shutout as the Lancers held Cal State Los Angeles to a scoreless draw Saturday.

The Golden Eagles, who are ranked No. 11 in NCAA Division II, had averaged five goals in their previous matches this season.

Kramer made several spectacular saves, including one on a curling, 18-yard free kick that was headed for the upper-right 90 in the 71st minute and another on a one-on-one break in overtime.

Cal Baptist is now 2-0-1 on the season and is unbeaten in eight games dating to last season. Cal State L.A. is also 2-0-1.
