County officials said they will auction off hundreds of items, including cars, furniture, clocks, power tools, a laptop computer, DVDs, a barber's chair, pins, stamps, coins, kayaks and other articles starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.
The auction is scheduled at the county operations annex at 5201-A Ruffin Road in Kearny Mesa.
Registration and viewing of the items to be auctioned off will start at 8 a.m. Bidding on the vehicles will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the auction of the rest of the items immediately following.
Customers are required to pay for and pick up the auction property by 2 p.m. Saturday. People can see pictures of the items to be auctioned off on the public administrator's Web site, by typing in www.papg.org, and scrolling in the pull-down window to "Auctions, personal property & autos."
The items come from people who die without a will or an heir to manage their estate.
The county holds personal property sales on the third Saturday of odd-number months. People who want more information can call (858) 694-3500.
