Thousands expected for Family Fun Fest

VISTA ----- The smells of hamburgers and kettle corn will waft through downtown Vista on Sunday for the city's annual Family Fun Fest, which organizers expect to draw 8,000 people.
Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and the Vista Village Business Association, the street fair will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street, between South Santa Fe Avenue and Vista Village Drive.
"It really is geared toward family and fun," said Jim Baumann, the chamber's chief executive. "There's a Kids Zone. There's live music and other entertainment all day. And there's a lot of different food choices ---- everything from Thai food to barbecue."
Public agencies and volunteer organizations will be manning informational booths. Admission and parking is free.
About 7,000 people attended the street festival last year, organizers said.
The event is part of the chamber and business association's biannual street fair. In the spring the two partnered up for the Vista Village Chocolate Festival.
