San Marcos Fire Department holds open house

SAN MARCOS -- The San Marcos Fire Department will hold an open house today featuring station tours, displays and kids' games.
The open house will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire station, 180 W. Mission Road, and coincides with National Fire Prevention Week, which runs Oct. 7 to 13.
The theme of Prevention Week this year is "Practice Your Escape Plan," and the event will include information and demonstrations on fire safety and emergency preparedness.
