MENIFEE -- The Menifee Valley Incorporation Committee will host a presentation and discussion on the proposed cityhood effort at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The benefits of cityhood, ways to get involved and how it might affect the quality of life and public safety will be on the agenda.

Cityhood proponents are hoping to incorporate Menifee, Sun City and Quail Valley as one city. The Local Agency Formation Commission is scheduled Oct. 25 to hear a report on the plan and possibly make a decision on the matter.

Wednesday's discussion will be at the rural center at Hahn and Garbani roads.

Romoland’s future is also unknown under county control. Together we can control our own future, locally. My phone number was listed in the article. Feel free to call me with your concerns. I'm sure the citizens of Menifee would not want an area included in their city boundaries if the citizens of that area did not want to be included. The first city Council will be made up of five local people elected by local people. I believe the voters in our area can and will select a city council that will properly represent all areas within the city, regardless of which area they live in. But that's just my opinion.
