Poll shows Californians express more concern about global warming

SACRAMENTO -- More Californians believe that global warming is a threat than their fellow Americans.
A new Field Poll says 7 in 10 Californians believe global warming is extremely or very important to them personally. That compares to 52 percent of respondents in a national poll taken in April.
The survey was taken from Aug. 10 to Oct. 28.
The Field Poll says 9 in 10 Californians believe the state could be a leader in new technologies to reduce climate change. They also think efforts to reduce global warming will create jobs and grow the economy.
The sample of 1,003 Californians has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The survey was done by telephone in English and Spanish.

And we are adding to the impact through smog. We cause smog. We breathe, taste, and die from smog, and that is a fact. So why are we arguing about weather or not there is global warming? it is not that I don't care about what is happening to the world, but I can't do anything about it. Neither can the USA. What we can do is correct our problems here at home. We can correct our smog problems and devise methods and systems to live with the warming of the earth. In doing that we will have done what we can and perhaps helped the rest of the world. as it is we are spinning our wheels and not too much is getting done - - but arguing.
