SAN DIEGO - Police are looking today for the man who arrived uninvited at a Mira Mesa house party and shot a guest at close range, in what was likely a gang-related attack.

The shooting was reported at 11:38 p.m. yesterday in the 11400 block of Osoyoos Place, according to San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings.

An 18-year-old man was attending the party and standing outside when another man, who was not invited to the party, walked up to him and fired several shots. Jennings said police believe both men belong to gangs.

The shooter fled in a full-sized red Mercury sedan with 20-inch rims.

The victim received multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, Jennings said.
