Members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs Contemporary Women of North County recently donated their time and efforts to the second annual gala to raise money for Angel's Depot, an organization founded by Susan Hall that feeds low-income senior citizens in San Diego County. Each month, Angel#'s Depot provides more than 700 seniors with weekly boxes of nutritious, nonperishable food.

The ‘Greatest Generation' fundraiser was held in Premier-Jet's Hangar No. 3 at the McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad and included Polynesian dancers, live and silent auctions and special guests including former prisoners of war from World War II and other local military personnel.

Also in attendance was former world heavyweight champion Ken Norton, a former Marine himself, who donated two autographed boxing gloves to the auction, as well as dinner at the Pampelmousse Grille in Solana Beach to the winning bidder. More than $45,000 was raised at this event, but Angel#'s Depot is still in need of volunteers to help pack its ‘Senior Food for a Week' boxes, as well as donations of food and money to help even more seniors through the holidays and the new year.
