Not taking anything away from Coach Gonzalez of Poway but taking a team to 4 straight titles is almost once in a lifetime type of history. You got this award wrong.

johnny wrote on Dec 15, 2007 7:33 PM:How can you lead all of san diego in the regular season in passing yards and not make Fisrt Team?!? And how can you lead all of San Diego in the regular season in receptions and reception yards and not make First Team?!? El Capitans Tanner Rust and Tila Case were robbed! It's like the "media" doesn't know anything?!? Tanner was constantly in the top 10 QB's in the state and Tila was constantly in the top 20 WRs in the state. Not to mention his all-purpose yards?!? He had over 2400(pass rec/return/rush) And regardlass of who they played or strength of schedule and all of that, their stats speak for themselves. The receiver from Valley Center was good and all, but they played in Division 5. Not even good enough to play at the Q. And I dont mean to take anything away from him, but if you're going to judge things like that, then you have to look at everything. The "media" needs to look at everything. Hopefully the "coaches" do and their "all CIF list" is justified.

EastCountySportsAllTheWay wrote on Dec 15, 2007 8:22 PM:1st team offense for WR... Johnson from Valley Center was the only choice that made sense. But Rosario from El Camino and Shields from Bonita Vista? Well okay, Rosario was a good choice, but how can you not select Case from El Capitan? His numbers were a lot better than Rosario and they definitely were better than Shields. Johnson had 74 receptions for 1582 yards and 18 TDs. Rosario had 52 receptions for 1143 and 14 TDs. Case had 67 receptions for a total of 1231 yards and 10 TDs. Shields had 33 receptions for a total of 442 yards and 5 TDs. You tell me, out of these 4, which 3 would you pick? Whats the “media” looking at….their measurements? Shields stands 6’6, Rosario at 6’4. Case stands 5’10. Is that why he didnt get noticed? Case had a great year and his stats and play deserve better recognition than 2nd team. He should’ve been 1st Team all the way! Just like coach of the year, you guys got this wrong too. "media" voting got it all wrong.

Hockey Fan wrote on Dec 16, 2007 9:13 AM:We were ALL( field hockey parents, players and coaches)were surprised to read that LCC Field Hockey Coach, Kim Elmore was Not selected Coach of the Year. Why? She won her 3rd straight Div 1 CIF title; her 3rd staright SERRA Tournament title, posted an unbelievable 69-4 record(including play-offs and all tournamnets)in the past 3 years and played the toughest Teams in the County throughout the year...San Pasqual, Scripps, Torrey, Serra...and ended up with the Best record in the County 22-1! Let's recognize her and Coach Carroll( Oceanside Football 4-peat Champion) All San Diego Coaches of the Year 2007!!

Hockey Fan wrote on Dec 16, 2007 9:16 AM:on the previous comment...jusr sent.. CLARIFICATION..posted an unbelievable 3 YEAR win/loss record of 69-4."

yeah right! wrote on Dec 17, 2007 6:54 PM:QB Tanner Rust, 2nd Team Offense? YEAH RIGHT! How can you lead all of San Diego in passing yards and TD passes and not make 1st Team? The QB from San Pasqual didnt put up half the numbers Tanner Rust did and he got 1st Team? Somethings wrong here guys. The media snubbed WR Tila Case and QB Tanner Rust. Does the media have something against the east county? Or better yet, do they have something against El Capitan? The media picked the #2, #3 and #50 ranked player for 1st Team QB and the #1, #3 and #35 ranked player for 1st Team WR. What gives?

MAD HOUSE wrote on Dec 17, 2007 6:59 PM:Why isn't Robbie Rouse even listed? Madison's League Leading Running Back wasnt even mentioned?!?! He was the only RB to gain over 2000 yards this year. Even out-gaining the "supposed" MVP from Oceanside. Yeah these media people are idiots.

calmDOWN wrote on Dec 18, 2007 9:28 AM:stop whining el cap, they dont play anyone near the caliber of north county.. i dont even know how far you guys got in the CIF playoffs, and this is the all CIF team not the lets rack up stats against nobody team. And to MAD HOuSE your an idiot if you havent noticed the "supposed MVP" from oceanside only SCORED 31 td'S carried his team to a CIF fourpeat and this county to their first state title dumb dumb. geT A CLUE

ok wrote on Dec 21, 2007 12:36 AM:This is to "calm DOWN". If stats weren't so important, then why keep them? I agree with recognizing players who deserved to be recognized. And the football season starts way back in September, not just when playoffs start. From your narrow minded point of view, you might as well only recognize those that made it to the playoffs and won. The hell with the regular season. And if you're gonna talk about racking up stats against "nobody teams", Valley Center plays in Division 4. That whole division seems to be "nobodys". They don't even allow them to play at Qualcomm. Now put down your pom poms and learn how to type correctly before your next post. The North County Times is no place for little kids.
