People on the move: Rancho Santa Fe resident certified as daily money manager

Rosalind Odmark of Rancho Santa Fe was one of 21 daily money managers from 12 states who became the first in the nation to earn the designation of Professional Daily Money Manager by meeting eligibility requirements and passing an intensive examination.
The certification process has been developed by the American Association of Daily Money Managers as part of its mission to assure high standards of practice and delivery of quality service by DMM professionals.
Michael Fraser joins L7 Creative Communications
Poway-based advertising agency L7 Creative Communications Inc. has hired Michael Fraser as senior copywriter.
Fraser has developed creative concepts and copy for print ads, TV and radio spots, online campaigns and collateral materials for brands such as Hewlett-Packard, House of Blues, Lego, Mail Boxes Etc., Countrywide and Taco Bell.
After hours, Fraser is a wildlife rescue volunteer and avid fisherman.
Rodriguez promoted to wine director at The Grand Del Mar
Jesse Rodriguez has been promoted from head sommelier at the Addison restaurant at The Grand Del Mar to wine director for the entire resort.
In his new position, Rodriguez will manage the newly opened resort's wine program, working with other members of the food and beverage team to oversee staffing and training and wine-related events, as well as wine collections and storage for five dining venues, the gourmet shop and catering functions.
Jeffery Gay promoted to senior estimator at Good & Roberts
Jeffrey Gay has been promoted to senior estimator in charge of the Estimating Department at Good & Roberts Inc. General Contractors, which is based Vista.
Gay is responsible for all operations of the estimating department, including preparation of cost estimates, maintaining professional estimating standards and procedures, review of bid solicitations, attendance at pre-bid conferences and jobwalks and securing pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Kwon reappointed as Axesstel CEO/director
Axesstel Inc. announced that it has reappointed Mike H. P. Kwon as its chief executive officer and director.
Kwon previously served as the company's chief executive officer from its founding until May 16, 2006. Since then, he has continued to serve the company in corporate development and strategic customer initiatives. He succeeds Marv Tseu, who resigned as chief executive officer and a director.
Based in San Diego, Axesstel is a recognized industry leader in the design and development of fixed wireless voice and broadband data products.

Robert Zamba has joined Ramona-based San Diego Real Estate Inspection Co. as an inspector. He brings 10 years of experience to the team.
Houston named VP of sales and marketing at Ciralight
Ciralight, manufacturer of high-performance daylighting systems, has promoted Earl Houston to vice president of sales and marketing.
Houston, who resided in Carlsbad before joining the company headquarters in Park City, Utah, began working at Ciralight in December 2006 as a regional sales representative for Southern California.
Nowakowski elected to Beckman Coulter board
Beckman Coulter Inc., a leading developer of products that simplify and automate complex biomedical testing, announced that Susan R. Nowakowski, chief executive officer, president and director of AMN Healthcare Services Inc. in Carmel Valley, has been elected to its board of directors.
Beckman Coulter Inc. is based in Fullerton and has facilities in Carlsbad.
BioMed appoints Gilchrist to board
BioMed Realty Trust Inc., a real estate investment trust based in Rancho Bernardo, announced the appointment of Richard I. Gilchrist to its board of directors, increasing the board to eight members.
Gilchrist is president of the Investment Properties Group for The Irvine Company, a privately held real estate investment company.
Chicken of the Sea executive appointed to food bank board
Second Harvest Food Bank for San Diego has appointed Carlsbad resident John Sawyer, Chicken of the Sea International's senior vice president of sales and marketing, to its board of directors.
The new food bank, which is part of America's Second Harvest's national network, aims to help feed the estimated 800,000 people in San Diego County who are suffering from hunger. Supported by $1.5 million in pledges and a grant from America's Second Harvest, Second Harvest Food Bank will also work with supermarkets and manufacturers, including Chicken of the Sea, to help supply food and donations.Ý

Bartholomew named area rental manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car
Enterprise Rent-A-Car has promoted Tyler Bartholomew of San Diego to area rental manager of North Coastal San Diego covering the areas of Carlsbad and Oceanside.
Bartholomew is a resident of San Diego and works from Enterprise's Carlsbad office. He previously served as branch manager and assistant manager.
Oceanside resident named ABC Supply Co. branch manager
ABC Supply Co. Inc. has promoted Oceanside resident James Hawthorne to branch manager of its store at 135 W. 30th St. in National City.
Hawthorne joined ABC Supply in 2002 as an inside sales representative in the company's San Marcos branch. He then served as a dispatcher and fleet manager in the company's San Diego branch.
Kovach appointed to Community Catalysts Housing Alliance board
Community Catalysts of California, a nonprofit agency that has served individuals with developmental and physical disabilities for more than 25 years, announced that Al Kovach has joined the Community Catalysts Housing Alliance board of directors.
A lifelong athlete and competitive swimmer, Kovach was permanently injured in 1991 during a parachute jump while on a U.S. Navy SEAL combat training mission. After six months of rehabilitation, he joined Cal-Diego Paralyzed Veterans Association as its government relations director and turned his attention toward assisting other veterans with disabilities. He has since served on the board of directors for numerous nonprofit organizations benefiting people with disabilities. He is also co-founder and vice president of the San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation.
Carlsbad resident joins Filefax
Filefax, a Poway-based company specializing in space-efficient storage related needs, has hired Carl Saling of Carlsbad as a major account manager.
Saling will play a key role in overseeing the growth and direction of the company's Supplies Division, as well as manage the creation and maintenance of new and existing customer relationships.
Gilleskie named director of engineering for California Center for Sustainable Energy
Thirty-year energy veteran, certified energy manager and professional engineer Robert Gilleskie of Del Mar Heights has joined the nonprofit California Center for Sustainable Energy as director of engineering.
In his new capacity with CCSE, Gilleskie oversees all aspects of the organization's residential and commercial energy efficiency initiatives, including research, project planning and development, funding, services delivery and evaluation.
Butler appointed associate dean of CSUSM Extended Learning
Cal State San Marcos Extended Learning has named Keith Butler as associate dean effective Jan. 1.
Butler will be responsible for Extended Learning operations. His areas include financial and business affairs, marketing and communications and community connections.
Butler joined CSUSM in 2000 as MBA operations manager, then became the director of operations for the College of Business Administration in 2004.
