Authorities have arrested a second man in connection with the killing of a Good Hope resident.
Juan Ramon Coronado, 20, of Perris, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Friday and booked at Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's Department news release issued Saturday.
On Thursday, Eusebio Fierros Jr., 18, of Perris, was arrested after leading homicide investigators to a body in an open field in Good Hope, authorities said.
The victim was identified Saturday as Lupe Delgadillo.
The investigation into the slaying started on Wednesday when deputies were called to the 21000 block of Steele Peak Drive in Good Hope by a woman who was concerned because she had not seen her 85-year-old neighbor for three days, authorities said.
Deputies learned that a day earlier that a California Highway Patrol officer had impounded the elderly man's vehicle. Fierros was driving the vehicle, in which evidence of foul play was found, investigators said.
Homicide investigators have released no information about how or why Delgadillo was killed or what connection the two arrested men may have to each other or to the victim. They also did not confirm whether Delgadillo is the elderly man who lived at the Steele Peak residence.
Fierros was booked at Southwest Detention Center in French Valley on suspicion of murder, carjacking and kidnapping, jail records state. Coronado was booked on suspicion of murder, possession of stolen property and illegal possession of a concealed weapon, according to jail records.
Both men are being held without the possibility of bail.
