North County Business Briefs: Carlsbad Chamber sundowner scheduled

The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce's sundowner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at Project Walk Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center Inc., 2738 Loker Ave. West, Carlsbad.
Cost is $5 for chamber members and $15 for prospective members. Reservations are not required.

Real estate seminar for teachers scheduled
Prudential Realty's Patricia Dalsin will present a free seminar on how low-interest rates, low prices and an abundance of properties can benefit teachers. Foreclosures, short sales, auctions and bank-owned properties will be discussed. A Wells Fargo lender and a California title representative also will be on hand to answer questions.

Carlsbad Chamber plans 'Meet the Chamber' breakfast
The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce will host a free "Meet the Chamber" breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Feb. 28 at the chamber office, 5934 Priestly Drive, Carlsbad.
Interested business people can learn about the networking, educational and professional benefits the chamber has to offer its new and prospective members.

North County Business Showcase planned for March 6
The Oceanside, San Diego North, Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Carlsbad and Fallbrook chambers have joined to present the North County Business Showcase from 2 to 7 p.m. March 6 at 3524 Seagate Way, Oceanside.
The showcase will feature 120 businesses offering information on their products and services. There also will be networking opportunities, two free educational workshops and free food.

SAFE plans annual fundraising party
The San Diego Advertising Fund for Emergencies, a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance during a life crisis to local advertising professionals, will holds its seventh annual fund-raising party from 6 to 11 p.m. March 6 at the Bondi Bar & Kitchen, 333 Fifth Ave., San Diego.
For the seventh consecutive year, the New Car Dealers Association San Diego County will be the title sponsor of the event, which will feature music, an all-you-can-eat sushi bar and prizes.
Admission is $40 per person. Funds raised will assist recipients of SAFE grants.

'Run Metter Meetings' workshop offered
The Nu Chi Unit of Parliamentarians will offer a workshop to help members of various organizations and associations learn to conduct better meetings.
The workshop, "Run Better Meetings With Robert's Rules of Order," will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 8 at the Joslyn Senior Center, 210 Park Ave., Escondido.
Cost of $40 includes a workbook and a copy of "Robert's Rules of Order in Brief."

Golf Super Show scheduled for March 7-9
The San Diego Golf Super Show will be held March 7-9 at the new Wyland Center at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
The show will feature a variety of golf merchandise, services and entertainment. Attendees also can see and test all the game's latest technology.
Admission is $10; children younger than 12 will be admitted free. Show hours are noon-6 p.m. March 7, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 8, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 9.
