OCEANSIDE----A 16-year-old boy suffered puncture wounds and lacerations Wednesday, but refused to tell Oceanside police exactly what happened, authorities said.

Police and fire authorities were called to the 500 block of Allspice Way at about 3 p.m. in response to a report of an assault, Oceanside police Sgt. Kelan Poorman said. Officers met with a 16-year-old boy in the 3800 block of Curry Street, who had a laceration to the back of his head and puncture wounds to his left shoulder blade and the back of his left hand.

The boy told police he had been in a fight at El Camino High School where he is a student, but he was not forthcoming about who the suspect was or what kind of weapon caused his wounds.

He was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla by helicopter, Poorman said. The incident is under investigation.

Hey esteban wrote on Feb 15, 2008 8:03 AM:Before you comment on a story, maybe you should check the location of the incident. Both locations are just across the street from El Camino High School...leave OHS out of it.

LOL wrote on Feb 15, 2008 8:24 AM:SMH @ esteban. Does it ever occur to you that something like this could and did happen at a City of ANYWHERE High School? I guess nooses and broomstick incidents is something that would happen at a Poway Unified School District High School or.... Teachers having sex with students is something that would happen down in a City of San Diego High School. Keep the asinine comments coming.

My only problem is that if and when they catch the person, he will get a slap on the wrist and probation. Our laws need to be enforced, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Anyone that attempts to kill another needs to be put in jail for an extended stay.

Linda wrote on Feb 18, 2008 11:40 AM:Pray for the youth of Oceanside and all "sides"...and don't take sides.Violence is running rampant in our society. It's the enemies tactics in these last days. He (Satan) wants to win as many souls as he can before Jesus returns. We need to be on our knees to win this spiritual battle. The students of El Camino are blessed to have a weekly group of committed moms who pray for the staff, admin., and students at El Camino. Every morning our family asks God to surround this school with His protection and protect it from evil and evil doers. Pray for the recovery of this child, for his family ,and the repentance of the guilty. The Lord loves them all and will forgive and transform each one who calls on His name. PRAY IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS! He died in your place so you don't have to. The exchange gives you eternal life! Wow! so, stop trying to figure out the safest place to live, the best school, the worst neighborhood and think instead of your own mortality, your eternity, and your relationship with Christ. What happened to this child can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. Do you know Him in case it does? PRAY!
