VALLEY CENTER: Gas line break has closed Valley Center Road
By North County Times | ∞
VALLEY CENTER ---- Valley Center Road was closed to traffic in both directions at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday due to a gas line break, Sheriff's Lt. Mike McClain said. It was expected to reopen by about 9:15 a.m., San Diego Gas and Electric spokeswoman Rachel Laing said.
The road was closed for about a two-mile stretch between Lilac Road and Woods Valley Road, McClain said. Traffic was being diverted via Lilac Road for southbound drivers and via Woods Valley Road for northbound drivers, he said.
The gas line break was caused by a construction crew that accidentally broke a six-inch main while digging on Valley Center Road between Olde Road and Calle de Vista, Laing said. There were no reported injuries and no outages due to the break, she said.
No further details were available.
